Registered Massage Therapist
Thank you for checking in.
Born in Germany, refined in Canada,
I am an experienced and compassionate therapist and have been working in this field for 30+ years, combining massage therapy with my physiotherapy background. Continuously taking courses and workshops, I like to focus on prevention and rehabilitation. The greatest reward is seeing patients/clients improve and feel better.
After 13 years as practicing physiotherapist in Germany I moved to Vancouver, graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) after finishing the 3000 hr/3 year program in just one year and, for the past many years, have been working in Vancouver’s gorgeous West End/Downtown area.
Everyone is unique and the whole person needs to be addressed with a holistic massage therapy approach, individually designed to you.
My interest and advanced training on the TMJ (temporo-mandibular joints or jaw) provide me with a variety of 'tools' to deal with jaw pain, clicking or locking jaw, headaches, migraines and neck pain. Those techniques also greatly complement the performance of professional singers and speakers.
CST (CranioSacral Therapy) is another modality I have been intrigued by; this very, very gentle touch can have such amazing results effecting the whole body, and it seems to work especially well in combination with TMJ treatments for shoulder, neck, head and face and for headaches, and many more conditions and troubles.
I played basketball on a national level and am very familiar with sports injuries and treatments (even better - prevention). Knowing the challenges desk jobs put on our bodies and the postural imbalances and muscle strains they cause, I am able to provide little tricks to make it more comfortable and improve your ergonomics. I strongly believe massage therapy, exercises and awareness, stress reduction and energy balancing, can minimize and prevent those effects and improve your feeling of health and well-being.
Having the chance to be a facilitator on your journey to health and wellness makes my job one of the best ever!
In a perfect world, preventative - ideally - and/or rehabilitative massage therapy would be part of anybody's training program and healthful lifestyle. I believe we all have the inherent ability to heal.
Looking forward to meeting you.
